The Alvarez Artist Series

Alvarez Artist Series guitars feature solid wood tops and come in a wide variety of distinctive tonewoods. Every model features enhanced cosmetic touches like beautiful pearl inlays for the twelfth fret, headstock and soundhole rosette. Intricately figured tonewood choices include Spalted Maple and Bubinga.

The AD4104BK

The Alvarez AD4104BK features a solid spruce top, with mahogany back and sides. It's a classic tonewood combo, providing a full, balanced tone, with a warm low-end and serious projection.

The body features a Venetian cutaway for easy access to the higher frets, and the rosewood fretboard is adorned with pearl hexagon inlays, for a unique look.

Speaking of looks, the gloss black finish is framed beautifully by ivory multi binding, and is further enhanced by the white pearl rosette, heastock inlays, and a rich rosewood bridge--a real class act.

On the hardware front, the AD410BK features nickel die-cast tuning machines.

5 out of 5 stars Plays like a $1,000 guitar.   July 13, 2010

Great guitar for the price. Super low action and very bright sounding. Stays in tune like an expensive guitar. At $135, I don't think there's anything in that price range that can come close.

2 out of 5 stars I used to love Alvarez (now just Alvarez-Yairi)   June 6, 2010

I just purchased this guitar and it is certainly good looking. However, it feels cheaply made (China). These are probably hit or miss due to issues with quality control. I'm returning this one because it has a crooked neck. The sound is ok and would probably get better with age (solid top). This (the neck) is too important too overlook though, and it will be the last time I order an acoustic on-line. It was an excellent price, but I would rather feel the "right" guitar with my own hands before purchase. It may not be as cheap as online, it is however the only way to know you will love your instrument. Amazon has been very helpful with the return. They won't charge for UPS pick-up and assure me that I will be refunded in full. They're customer service is top notch!

P.S. My main acoustic is a 20 year old Alvarez-Yairi and I love it-

This is my first guitar and I like it. My class master told me that it's a very good guitar for the price.
1. It's prefect for my (big) hands
2. The fret identification dots.
3. Pegs are good and easy to adjust. etc.

So far no issues. I am start playing beginner songs.

This is a well built guitar with very good sound. The first one I received had a bad intonation problem and had to be returned. I received the replacement in 2 days after requesting an exchange! Thanks Amazon for this quick service.

I was pleasantly surprised with this guitar's fit and finish. It has great sound and plays smooth, fast action and solid tuning machines.
