3 out of 5 stars Good starter guitar   June 21, 2009
A musician's Mom (Kansas City)
This is a good starter guitar. We bought it 10 months ago for our 6 year old daughter's birthday. She began lessons at that time. It does not stay in tune, but her instructor can tune it fairly easily at the beginning of each lesson. We did not want to spend a lot on a guitar in case our daughter did not like playing, but now that she loves it and wants to continue we are going to buy a better guitar. We want one that stays in tune, and that she can use for years as she becomes a better musician. This is not an instrument that a serious guitar player would want, but it is a good starter instrument. Our daughter can tell instantly when it is out of tune, which is about a day after her lesson, and can not retune it herself, and I know nothing about guitars so can not tune it either.

1 out of 5 stars I Gave Up! First Act Wins. Zero Stars Not Possible.   May 28, 2009

THE FIRST GUITAR
- It came with food (I hope it was food) stains on one side
- Parts of it were damaged and repainted, badly

THE SECOND GUITAR
- Decorative marks where glued off center and looked awkward
- More bad repair marks, clearly visible
- Dirty finger prints all over the guitar

THE THIRD GUITAR
- Frets have different heights -not playable
- Repair/damage marks
- Missing chord cards

First Act, you have us all fooled. YOU WIN. My daughter just wants to hold and play with a pink guitar, and I am not going to take it away and exchange it for a fourth one.

Price paid: $60

If your guitar cost only $10, I would still give it zero stars, if zero stars were an option

1 out of 5 stars Poor Quality   March 9, 2009

Received guitar before promised date. However, after opening and looking at product I'm not very impressed. Very poor workmanship on neck and body. Looks like wood had slips that where just painted over. It also looks like some one painted it a can of spray paint.

2 out of 5 stars Fine for a toy   February 8, 2009

My daughter has one of these, and it's fine for her to play air guitar on. In fact, that was all she wanted to do for a while. The hard part came when she wanted to actually learn to play guitar, which simply isn't possible because the intonation is completely out - the frets aren't tuned at half steps, they're at about 3/4 steps, so the 5th fret is a major 3rd above the root note. If your kid actually wants to learn to play guitar, you're going to have to look elsewhere.
