Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
The Epiphone Les Paul 100 is the electric guitar you want, If you're starting to get serious about your music. The mahogany body with maple top delivers classic solid, heavy tone while the bolt-on mahogany neck and rosewood fingerboard are easy to play. Features 700T/650R open-coil humbucker pickups and chrome hardware. The Epiphone Les Paul 100 guitar features classic Les Paul design and tone.

Amazon.com Product Description
All the features of a Les Paul but in a more affordable bolt-neck version. It features a slightly slimmer body for added comfort and hot open-coil Alnico-V Humbucking pickups on a carved top with individual pickup volume and tone controls.

Les Paul Features in an Affordable Package.

Alnico V humbuckers and the industry-standard Tune-O-Matic bridge.

Rosewood fretboard with dot inlays.

Angled Headstock
Unlike cheaper designs, all Epiphones feature a 14-degree headstock that gives you more pressure at the nut and so you get more sustain with less tuning hang-ups caused by "string-tree" gadgets.

Double-Waxed Pickups
Epiphone utilizes a double vacuum waxing process that ensures optimum performance. The pickup is first placed in the specialized wax vacuuming system before the cover is put in place to ensure that the wax fully penetrates to the very center of the pickup and solidifies all parts. After the cover is placed on, it is again given a second vacuum wax bath until the unit is completely saturated with wax.

Output Jack
To increase reliability and ensure consistent performance, Epiphone's proprietary output jacks feature an improved contact shape and heavy-duty spring steel.

Toggle Switches
All Epiphones feature our all-metal, USA designed switches for reliable contact and longer life.

Tunomatic Bridge
Fully adjustable, the tunomatic remains a classic after over 50 years. Unlike guitars fitted with tremolos, there are no tuning or re-stringing difficulties. Plus, tone and sustain are improved because all string vibrations are transferred directly to the guitar.

Potentiometers
Epiphone is passionate about performance. That's why their instruments use one-inch diameter potentiometers for better "throw," longer life and reliable service.

Quick-Connectors
For unequalled reliability as well as ease of service, Epiphone wiring harnesses feature quick-connectors.

4 out of 5 stars AWESOME GUITAR   October 8, 2009
Jhoanna =]
This guitar is really great for beginners, great for intermidiates and still good for more advanced pdlayers!
I was looking to buy my second guitar at guitar center, and the guy recommended this one for rock, and for our budget . (it was on sale for about 250)
its great!
the price is really nice. its a realy les paul, and epiphone.
it has the les paul shape , pickguard, everything. the back of the neck is smooth. my friend has a gison les paul and says she likes this because the neck is smooth, she also said the the gibson wasn't as smooth as this.
i have had this for quite a while and it still is going good.
it sounds amazing. the guitar is really realiable. it is the best for the price.
i reccomend this for any guitar player. no matter what skill.

If you want a decent electric guitar, specially if you want a LP, and dont have the kind of money for a Standard or +, this is the one for you.
Sounds decent and looks good. Fast shipping.
Problems: Came with E string broken, had to replace it. The strings seem to be a little bit too low, causes buzz when strummed (string(s) hit fret(s)). Adjustable.

good guitar but when it got it the guitar didn't have the E-string attached, it was no big deal i had it replaced at a local guitar shop for 80 cents but don't buy it from this site go somewhere else or buy it at a store. i highly recommend this guitar but buy it elsewhere.

5 out of 5 stars Awesome bargain Les Paul!   March 3, 2008

OK, not set neck (hence low low price) and not a Gibson (who cares?), but a terrific sounding low cost, beautiful, high quality musical instrument with the look and feel of a true Les Paul. Sure, after ya hit the big time, go buy a Gibson, but this axe looks just as fine and sounds almost as good- that is awesome! Bang for the buck can not be beat!

5 out of 5 stars Great advanced beginner guitar   March 2, 2008

I picked this up as my 3th guitar in a year, looking for the right sound. I bought a Squier Telecaster at first and liked the sound, then bought an acoustic 2nd hand before buying my cherry sunburst LP 100 and found the sound I was looking for. New buyers should be warned this has a bolt on neck like a fender, and thus isn't a "true" les paul style guitar, which has a set neck. If you're looking for "cred" among people who really like guitars, Epiphone offers a set neck les paul for about $150 more. What this guitar gives you for the lower price is 100% of the look and feel of a set neck guitar, and 90% of the sound. This guitar sounds great plugged in to my $100 amp I got a year ago, with about half the buzz/noise of my squier Tele.
