A good value but pros and cons. Guitar looks "cool"..nicely finished gloss black. It shines like my old 54 Merc when Simonized, great if you like solid black. I'm keeping guitar for backup/fun. If you buy, look for strap inside case pocket..its not missing. But, you won't find printed instructions, hangtags, or warranty info. (Mine had none.) There is a dvd though. Guitar seems decently constructed but heavier than others like it. Chances are you'll be seated while playing. If you're gonna stand, get a better strap/system. The guitar looks nicer than it sounds, to me. Likely, better strings may help. Also, those supplied are not easy on the fingers. (They give extra set of same strings.) Playing action is a bit high, though acceptable, but expect callouses soon. The accessories are adequate, but I would not trust the strap. I'm debating if this is for beginners. You get a lot for not much money, but I'd say this is better for backup/spare or a fun guitar. Some experience would help, even a little. Many econo boxed guitars I've come across lately seem lighter in weight. But, this seems made nicely, sounds/plays generally all right, and looks "cool." Buy some hot Memphis music and have fun. Just watch flimsy strap; if you use it, don't gyrate or guitar may fall down. If you have questions, perhaps try a dealer or shop. I had no response from "Silvertone" after emailing them twice with some questions.

I bought this for my husband with the idea that if he learned how to play we could always upgrade. He has learned how to play so quick but has no intentions of upgrading anytime soon. He loves the guitar, the style, the sound, everything. The extras that come with the package are not the best quality, but the guitar itself makes up for it. I did a plenty of research on beginner guitars and and 100% satisfied with what I got.

My girlfriend was interested in learning to play the guitar, so I purchased this package for her for Christmas. It comes with everything you need to get started, and the DVD that comes with it is EXCELLENT for a beginning learner!
Highly reccommended.
